As a clinical psychologist, I am honored with the exceptional privilege of getting to know individuals who are ready to join me in their complex quest for the growth and care of the human mind.
I utilize a flexible and integrated therapeutic style in collaboration with a helping perspective that is congruent with my personal character. My approach is tailored to each and every unique individual who enters my office. I draw from my diverse training background of psychodynamic and cognitive-behavioral techniques with the knowledge of empirically-driven research on the most effective practices for your presenting concerns. Most importantly, my interventions are based on your stated treatment style preferences and therapeutic goals. My group therapies are designed to offer an educational component derived from my specialized post-doctoral trainings, as well as the endless possibility of therapeutic benefits that only a group dynamic can provide.
I rely on the fundamental concept that symptoms initially develop as an adaptive solution to a situational circumstance. Symptoms become a source of discomfort when such chosen solution is no longer adaptive in a client’s present life situation. One of the primary goals of therapy is to gain awareness of these internal conflicts and to establish new cognitions and behavioral solutions that are more advantageous in achieving a higher level of functioning.
